3 Years of Growth: L’illa Co Becomes a Business Coworking Reference in Barcelona

Three years ago, we opened our doors with the idea of creating a coworking space that was much more than just a workplace. We wanted to build a community where professionals from different industries could collaborate, innovate, and grow. Today, we are proud to say that we have achieved much more than that. These three years have been a journey full of learnings, achievements, and significant evolution.

At L’illa & Co., we strive to offer a flexible, inspiring, and opportunity-filled work environment. Thanks to the trust of our members, we have reached milestones that position us as one of the leading coworking spaces in Barcelona.

More than 250 companies have been part of our community Since our opening, we have hosted over 250 companies of all sizes and industries. Each of them has contributed to creating a diverse and dynamic network that enriches the work environment and encourages collaboration among professionals from different fields.
More than 1,500 meetings and events held Over these three years, we have hosted more than 1,500 meetings, which have not only allowed our members to connect, share knowledge, and expand their professional networks but also provided external companies the opportunity to hold their meetings in a flexible and professional setting.

L’illa Co Expands in Diagonal Barcelona with 1800 m² of New Coworking and Training Spaces

Indicesa L’illa inaugurates the expansion of L’illa & Co., the first business coworking space located in L’illa Diagonal and managed by Savills Flex. With this expansion, L’illa & Co. has now 1,800 sqm distributed on a single floor, thus becoming the reference flex space in the financial district of Barcelona.

After opening less than a year ago and with occupancy reaching 100% in just four months, the expansion incorporates 12 new private offices and 12 hot desks, a multipurpose and divisible training room with a total capacity for 50 people, new meeting rooms, a new office space and several open work areas where you can hold informal meetings and encourage networking.

For managing L’illa & Co., Indicesa L’illa has entrusted the real estate consultancy firm Savills, for the design and execution of the extension with the aim of increasing the possibilities of use of the spaces while maintaining the same level of excellence, quality and comfort offered by the current space.

L’illa & Co. collaborates with Fundació Pere Tarrés on its first Christmas

L’illa Co partners with Fundació Pere Tarrés to promote responsible coworking

L’illa & Co., in collaboration with Fundació Pere Tarrés, whose headquarters are located in Les Corts district in Barcelona, organized a charity collection of gifts for 56 children and teenagers from Centre Obert l’Eixample in Barcelona.

The business coworking space located in L’illa building has sponsored the letters from these children in which they requested: toys, sports equipment, school supplies, puzzles, board games and electronic equipment, among others. L’illa & Co., has delivered all this material today to those in charge of the centre.

This action is part of the ESG strategy of the company Indicesa L’illa, owner of the space, through which it intends to contribute to four of the SDGs defined by the United Nations in its 2030 agenda: End of poverty (1), Health and well-being (3), Reduction of inequalities (10) and Alliances to achieve the objectives (17).

L’illa Co Expands Its Coworking Space by 600 m² in Barcelona’s Business District

After its recent opening in March, L’illa&Co. is carrying out an expansion due to the success and the good reception that this unique business coworking space located in L’illa Diagonal has had.

The expansion will mean an increase of 600 m2 that will be added to the current area, resulting in a total of 1,600 m2 for flexible offices in the heart of the financial district of Barcelona.

The new space will incorporate 12 private offices and 12 hot desks, a multipurpose training room that can be divided into two spaces with a total capacity for 32 people, an additional meeting room, 3 phone booths, a new office space and several open work areas where holding informal meetings and encouraging networking.

The works, which have already begun, will end next December this year. To this end, Indicesa L’illa has once again relied on the real estate consulting firm Savills for the design and execution of the extension, which will maintain the same level of excellence, quality and comfort as the current space.

Grand opening of L’illa Co, the first business coworking in Barcelona with over 50% occupancy

It is the only coworking space that brings together a shopping center, offices, hotels and a flexible space in the heart of the financial district.
It has been created under the highest quality standards in the market and will obtain WELL certification, which guarantees that the space works for the health and well-being of its occupants.
The developer have entrusted Savills Flex with the design and execution of the space, its management and marketing.

Barcelona, March 17th 2022.- Indicesa L’illa and Savills have presented this morning L’illa&Co., a new coworking concept of more than 1,000 square meters located in L’illa Diagonal building in Barcelona.

The new project is the first coworking in the financial district of Barcelona that brings together a shopping center, hotels, offices and a flex space in the same place, designed to provide the necessary service to new ways of working. Its location and quality, in the most consolidated office area in the city where the availability of office space is below 5% according to data from Savills, has been one of the keys to its quick acceptance by users. The project has been inaugurated today with 50% of the space already occupied by more than 14 companies.

A functional space adapted to current needs

L’illa & Co. has a total of 92 workstations distributed in 25 offices between 2 and 8 desks each which, thanks to their configuration, can meet higher space needs. It also offers meeting rooms equipped with the latest technology to hold videoconferences and work remotely with teams, and an Àgora room designed to hold training sessions, presentations and other types of professional events for more than 40 people.

In addition, the facilities have an “open space” work area, several points where you can have an informal meeting or take a private phone call, and even a golf green where you can unwind and socialize with the other users of the space.

Juan Manuel Sanahuja, from Indicesa L’illa, pointed out in the presentation that “the opportunity moment and the scarcity of this type of offer in a traditional office area prompted us to start this project with great desire to provide more services to our clients and continue expanding the uses of the building. We are delighted with the success and the engagement with the space that already has 50% of the area at full capacity”.

For her part, Anna Gener, CEO of Savills Barcelona, explained that “spaces like L’ílla, with mixed uses that allow enriching the day-to-day of new ways of working, are currently a clear trend in the financial centers of the cities by providing very flexible quality solutions for people and companies”.

According to Savills, coworking spaces and flexible workspaces have recovered their activity after the pandemic. In 2021 in Barcelona, nine operations were signed by flex operators who contracted 11,600 sqm and both operators, owners and users trust in the convenience of the model.

L’illa &Co is a project of Indicesa L’illa and Savills Flex, the real estate consultancy’s specialized team in flexible spaces through which it has covered the feasibility, design, construction and comprehensive management of the project, including the commercialization.

In line with the commitment to the environment and the community by the project developers, the space will obtain WELL certification, one of the most prestigious in terms of health and well-being, while the office building where it is located is in process to obtain the BREEAM certification.
